This is Lesson 1 in our Kindergarten Bible Study- My Bible Book for this school year
We are trying to introduce more biblical concepts to our kindergartener this year. We have a lot of Christian cartoons and children’s Bible and books that they watch and have read to them. We’ve read My Take Along Bible to all of them since they were babies. This is one of our favorite Bibles for the early years . Now we’re incorporating biblical studies more into our homeschool, whether in writing or art.
This week we started a “My Bible Book”. Throughout the year we are going to pick famous people in the Bible to study. Nothing to deep, after all it’s kindergarten. To make the process seamless and much easier to follow through with, we would be picking the prophets from a Bible flashcards set that we own. This way she can also read the card as well.
We would then pick out about three or four main points about the person and write them out. Incorporated would be some simple pictures for coloring and sticking into her book so its child friendly. After she decorated the page, and did some kindergarten journaling.
For the event that you may want to re-create this study with your little one, I have detail it out, leaving the links to the clip art printouts we used from the internet.
Kindergarten Bible Study-Lesson 1: Jesus
- Jesus is God’s son. Image used.
- He performed miracles. Image used.
- Jesus died to pay for my sins. Image used.
- He rose and went up to heaven. Image used.
Each week we would be doing someone new and I would post it by the end of the week.
Additional Notes:
- Use a good glue stick. I love the dollar tree. Unfortunately, those don’t work well for this to last long-term. And liquid glue is too messy. I am ordering some.
- I help her stick the photos unto the page to ensure room for our copy work.
- If my little one needs help in forming letters she might be struggling with or new symbols like commas, I am there to assist (with my coffee).
- I only do Bible study and her Brain Quest workbook as a more ‘structured’ form of learning on Mondays. This Bible study handles writing also, plus it’s a lot.
- You do not have to use the flashcards. I used them because I already owned them from a prior dollar tree purchase.
- The sentences are not exactly word for word from the flashcards. Most I have rephrased in easier words for her to understand.
