Who knows why I didn’t know of this sooner….
Baking Soda And Vinegar Love! That’s the feeling since I’ve discovered the wonderful powers of baking soda and vinegar, I have been cleaning like crazy. Why I didn’t know about this sooner? Who knows. But we have found each other, and they are here to stay! There are some simple finds we come up on sometimes that have such a great impact, this is definitely one of those!
There is an unexplained amazement in watching a rusty, sad-looking item be given life once again. All you need is some time and elbow grease with some vinegar and baking soda. I described in an older post the process, and it was basically the same here. It’s amazing to find ways to be able to multi-purpose the products we use around our homes.
These were some of the transformations….
Don’t judge me, nobody is perfect.
In all of these little projects, the grease filter was the hardest to clean. I had to add some hot water first, before saturating it with the baking soda and vinegar. That to me was understandable. It’s a mesh wiring, so the hot water helped the baking soda and vinegar do it’s thang! I tried using hot water alone, and it was not as nearly as effective as combing with the baking soda and vinegar.
I have to admit, this turned out better than I thought! You would never know this container was crayoned before.
This is a VERY old pot, so for the job it did, I was very impressed! It also works well for getting rid of the build up that can occur in these older pots.
This also turned out pretty nicely I think.
The kitchen looks so much cleaner and brighter now. It’s the place I spend most of my time in the house anyway, so I am happy it’s looking more inviting. Anything to motivate in getting the job done, right?!
A last warning….
You may already know this, but never hurts to say: Please be very careful when mixing products. These two products when mixed together has a bubbly effect. Please don’t touch while the chemicals are reacting!
It’s not as dramatic as I make it sound. However, like I tell my kids, SAFETY FIRST!
What are your thoughts?
