Impromptu Learning Moments Inspired By A Learning Environment/ Teaching Toddlers
It doesn’t matter how many kids you have. When your child begins learning or doing something new, it is so hard to describe how much that enlightens you as a parent. I know there are billions of parents, but I am certain the feeling is like new all over again for each child. And like a new experience for each parent. Kids are just great like that! lol
Our little one…
So after we did our story-time yesterday, my 22-month-old was showing off some of her letter, color and number recognition skills! So proud mama over here. See her here also. Of course, she missed a few too, but I am just so proud of her! Especially since she is showing such a natural interest in learning.
Creating A Learning Environment…
This is where I insert by saying, once you create an environment for learning, they would naturally be drawn towards learning. Just like with anything else. It does not have to be too fancy or too elaborate if your pockets cannot afford that. Use much cheaper options like the Dollar Tree or a thrift store or two. Plus there is always the public library in your area.
And the only reason I mentioned the library last, is I know how it is for me. I am out and about with three babies practically. Going to the Library is just not as easy as it may sound right now.
Adding A Little Fun…
Adding a little fun to it is also important. Check out my other video to see very small ways I make learning fun with my kids! I think it goes well without saying that when kids find something fun, they learn without thinking of it as learning. It makes it easier for you as the parent, but it truly ensures engagement by them. Which is the point after all right?
Start small. Don’t be intimidated by starting small either. I by no means have a totally decked out kids library or homeschool for my kids. Neither is their learning spaces very fancy. But I am totally contented for what we are able to provide currently. And moments like these proves that it is sufficient.
Until next post,
Nicole.
