Our Homeschool Goals 2017-2018
When I first began homeschooling, I winged it!
That was because I was trying to find our homeschooling stride. Now, we are still young in the homeschooling game. If you count the pre-schooling years, we are in our fourth year of homeschooling at the moment. None the less, as the years go on, I want to try and do so more goal oriented. So today I would like to share with you some of our homeschool goals for 2017-2018.
Now let me first say, most things are always easier said than done. And especially since I have little ones, I would be praying for the good Lord to show me how actually to achieve these goals.
That said, my goal is to be able to write these goals down for our homeschool, pray about them and periodically throughout the year revisit them to see if we have been making any steps closer towards them.
- Patience (the fruits of the spirit in general, but specifically patience)- Within me, but also for my girls amongst each other.
- Being more organized– I have already begun to see the benefits of planning this year and would love to continue to improve in that area.
- Finding ways to involve dad more– My husband is the one that introduced the thought of homeschooling. So I would like him to feel more involved as time goes on.
- More hands on learning/ crafts– I am a fan of all paper crafts. I would like to introduce a wider variety of crafting materials though. Especially for the sake of one of my daughters.
- Asking questions/admit when we don’t know– I want to continue to build on this habit so that none of my kids ever feel ashamed for not understanding something.
- Diversify our reading materials– We have comfort zones with regards to our book selections. I want to work on broadening their reading exposure.
- Where appropriate allow the kids to be more involved in their learning process– This is simple at this stage. But none the less, important to me.
- Foster a stronger sibling bond– I want to help my girls to understand the importance of treasuring each other.
