Valentine’s Day Craft For Kids
Today the kids and I had a ball doing Valentine’s day crafts. As we crafted we discussed a little about why people celebrate Valentine’s day. We also talked a little about the colors used for Valentines. They were able to truly allow their personalities to shine! These supplies can be found at your local Dollar Tree. Craft Supplies:
- Paper Plates
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pom Poms
- Pipe Cleaners
- 1 Large Foam Heart
- Small Foam Hearts
- Googly Eyes
- Plastic Glasses
- Sheer Ribbons
Steps:
- Stick googly eyes on foam heart.
- Put glasses on. Poke hole using a pencil. Do one side first. Push the handle almost halfway through before poking the other side. This ensures enough room between both sides.
- Stick nose and mouth using pom poms, as desired.
- Earrings: optional. a./ You can either use a heart for the earrings. or b./ Take a pipe cleaner and poke it through a small foam heart. Equal out each side and twist once or twice to secure. Using a pencil, bore two tiny ear holes, one on top the other. Push the pipe cleaners with heart through the top hole. Once the heart is secure, thread the pipe cleaners through the bottom hole to the front. Add another heart to the bottom and secure. Or you could just stick a flat sparkly heart to keep things simple.
- Optional: Make a hair bow using five pom poms. One color in the middle. Then two on each side closely and preferably a different color.
- Take completed foam heart and lay it on the plate.
- Using a pencil, puncture a small hole above each ‘ears’ and one below the mouth.
- Thread with silk ribbons to secure heart to the plate.
- Done!
