When The Still Quiet Voice Of God Amazes You
Sometimes the still quiet voice of God just silences you. Stuns you. And you are reminded that despite what is going on around you, God is REAL.
Any blogger will tell you there are so many instances along their blogging journey that they just felt discouraged, highly disappointed, and quite frankly, almost ready to throw in the towel. Even if not fully, in some form or fashion. Whether it’s a total revamp to dropping a specific interest area altogether.
So my kindergartener and I are doing a Bible series this school year. And like every other blogger on the planet, you would like to make yourself believe, at least one other human being is actually reading those words you took sometimes hours to write, edit, and add all the other extras that goes into producing a “great” post. That is not happening (yet).
Humility…
Now trust me, as a Christian, I understand that the work that God may call you to do, may not be grandiose. But because I still have a lot of room to grow in my walk with the Lord, hey I was starting to feel a little bombed out and ‘ego bruised’.
So I turned to my husband and asked him what did he think. Should I continue to put them up on the site or not? Now, quite frankly, I should have also ‘asked’ my daughter. Reason being, with this series I have her very involved. I told her this series might be able to help teach another little girl like herself a little about the Bible. And that helps her to keep trying her best at it. But I didn’t ask her. Selfish desires are really something else huh.
Anyways, literally within seconds of me asking him that, I got my answer! Attached to one of our Bible series post I had re-shared much earlier that day, I had invited persons to like my page to get updates. And someone did seconds after my whining. That was all I needed!
That Still Quiet Voice…
If you don’t believe in God, I do understand how one can see this as a mere coincidence. But based on too many experiences to count, I have come to understand, God still speaks to us, we just have to hear and listen to when the still quiet voice of God amazes you. (1 Kings 19:12)
So first to the young lady, that liked my page at 6.28 pm pacific time, November 2016, Thank you! God has used your very simple gesture to let me know, HE has a purpose for this series that has nothing to do with my own selfish desires.
So come tomorrow, God spear, I will be doing what we’ve been doing for the last six weeks. Because in some form or fashion, apparently, God still has a plan for this series! 🙂
What are your thoughts?
